Do this for permanent lifestyle change; make your change last. I ran across an article one day and it had Albert Einstein write out ‘9 X 1’ all the way to ‘9 X 10’ and in it, he made one mistake. There was chaos in the room as students ridiculed him for making a mistake. He waited until the room was silent and said, “Despite the fact that I analyzed 9 problems correctly, no one congratulated me. But when I made one mistake, everyone started laughing. This means that even though a person is successful, society will notice his slightest mistake. And they’ll like that. So don’t let criticism destroy your dreams. The only person who never makes a mistake is someone who does nothing.”
This Lifestyle Change will Keep You Successful
I see this all the time. My clients may have accomplished 4 of their goals but missed just one, and they focus on that one which, of course, leads all of us to feel like we failed and then succumb to “the hell with it” attitude. Society does this to us and we do it to ourselves. Let’s all work on NOT doing it to ourselves and NOT giving society the pen to write our story either.

I recommend ending your day by writing down your successes. Validate your strengths, talents, skills, and efforts. Sometimes we have no control over outcome, but we always have control over input. Try it and you’ll see. When you focus on what you did well, success will build on success. Whether it’s weight loss, better nutrition, or overall wellness, you will experience more permanent lifestyle changes. Judgment, guilt, and shame actually do the opposite of our desired outcome.
Focus on Pleasure for Real Change
Stop torturing yourself starting in 2022. Focus on things you like, ways to enjoy life, and methods of moving your body that feels good. You’ll find increased weight loss and more sustained lifestyle change if you make it joyful. Try something different and end those diet schemes. They do NOT work and only leave you feeling bad and eventually gaining all the weight back.
