Make weight lose easy in 4 steps.  One comment I hear quite often in my office is “That’s it?  That’s easy.”  Or “That’s too easy.”  Why does life have to be hard to be successful?  I guess it’s been ingrained in us to work hard in order to get results.

I think we make life harder than it is and if we focus on the easy solutions, it will automatically be easier.  Besides, there are plenty of difficult things out of our control.  Let’s take advantage of things that are actually simple.

Here are some mistakes to avoid for easy weight loss and a shift in life perspective, for that matter.

Mistake #1:  Dieting.  It obviously doesn’t work, at least not in the long term, so why do so many of us keep dieting?  Why are there more and more diet schemes every year that gets so much attention?  Eat real food and enjoy it!  Eat ingredients you can pronounce.  Don’t forget to move, get fresh air, de-stress, and get plenty of sleep.  All these factors affect what we eat, how we eat, and how efficiently we metabolize.

Mistake #2:  Work, Work, and No Play.  Again, why does it have to feel like torture in order to lose weight?  Make it fun!  Move your body in a way that’s absolutely fun to the point where you can’t wait.  I can’t wait to play beach volleyball.  I would never call that “working out” but it sure burns lots of calories and I can play for 4 hours plus.  No way I can do that at the gym or at boot camp.  But….if you like the gym and boot camp, then that’s fantastic.  Focus on fun and it’ll last.

Mistake #3:  Calorie Reduction & Then Binging.  We get so caught up in calories and restricting our diet that it’s not sustainable, then we find ourselves binging.  We start carving everything from sweets to comfort food.  It’s too extreme which back fires.  Focus on what you can maintain for life and not just for a few months.

Mistake #4:  Skipping Your Greens.  So many of us forget to eat greens.  They are inexpensive, plentiful, and full of nutrients.  They provide energy, improve our mood, prevent cancers, boost immune systems, and a great anti-inflammatory.  Enjoy them in just about everything.
