I’d like to share some of my clients’ “Ah Ha” moments that will help you determine what changes you need to make to feel completely healthy and fit. Please let me know your thoughts.
Addressing The Root. When your oil light comes on in your car, you add oil. You do not turn off the light like many medications do. Stop banging your head against the wall by just fixing the symptoms. Get to the root cause! i.e., Weight gain is just a symptom.
5 Minute or 60 Minute Massage? When our food is delicious, we feel pleasure, and pleasure results in a healthy body because we alert our body’s parasympathetic system to digest efficiently. As a client of mine puts it, eating slowly is so important to taste our food. It’s like getting a 5 minute massage or a 60 minute massage. Which do you want and by the way, they cost the same. Take the time to enjoy your food and you’ll crave less food and eat less too.
Change Your Body Image. How do you treat someone you hate? Probably poorly, or you ignore the person, or don’t give them the time of day. If you hate your body, you are doing the same thing–treating it poorly, ignoring it, and not giving it the time of day. Love your body now just the way it is and you will see results because our physical appearance follows our mental state.
Never Cancel a Fun Date. A couple agreed on separate “me” time. He was going to shoot hoops with the boys and she was going for a manicure. Life happens and the house was a disaster and she stayed home to clean, cancelling her pamper time. He did not cancel and came home to a very annoyed, agitated, angry wife. Our body needs many moments of joy and the more we put it on the back burner, the more ill-tempered we get, the more unhealthy we get, and the more we weigh (because so many of us reach for junk when we’re upset). A hot body means always incorporating fun time.
