Dieting is About Location, Location, Location

True, dieting is like real estate.  It’s about location, location, location.  If you lose the weight in all the wrong places, your body CANNOT wait to be fat again to dilute the toxins and keep you alive.  So…don’t be old school and stop counting calories, put the scale on vacation, and stop categorizing your food.  Here’s why:

  1. Throw away the scale.  That number does not tell the complete story.  You may be gaining muscle while losing fat and staying the exact same weight.  You’ll lose the fat in the right location…the mid section where visceral fat can cause deadly diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc.  That’s the most important, NOT the number on the scale.
  2. Stop calorie counting.  This is definitely old school.  It doesn’t take into account quality.  Aren’t you worth it?  Since we are using real estate analogies, please upgrade your property value.  Make yourself worth so much more than a bunch of calories.  You probably realize this is a much deeper issue, so let’s address it.  Let’s make you confident, full of value, and full of life, then the pounds will just shed.  Calorie counting causes stress which slows our metabolism.
  3. Stop categorizing food.  Once we call a food “bad,” it’s all over.  Now, you’ve just raised that food’s property value.  Now, it’s the forbidden treat.  Food is just food.  Enjoy it and stop judging it.  Learn to naturally gravitate to the healthy nutrition and have treats without guilt.
